Strasbourg Once Again Hosts Regent University’s Prestigious Summer Law Program

(Strasbourg, France)- Regent University, in co-operation with the European Centre for Law and Justice, is once again holding its prestigious summer program in Strasbourg, France, the Human Rights capital of Europe. The location, being the seat of the European Parliament, Council of Europe and European Court of Human Rights, provides the ideal location for the annual summer program.

This year’s program hosts fifty students from around the world and will provide students unprecedented access to key Members of European Parliament, as well as European and international leaders. In addition, several well known lawyers from the United States will be involved including Dr. Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel for both the European Centre for Law and Justice and the American Centre for Law and Justice, ACLJ Senior Counsel Stuart Roth and Dr. Andrew Ekonomou, Professor at Emory University and Special Counsel to the ECLJ. The program will also provide lectures from such international figures as Ambassador Ayalon, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Attorney General John Ashcroft who will teach on security issues, and General Ashcroft’s Slovakian counterpart, Daniel Lipsic, former Attorney General of the Slovak Republic. Further lectures will be delivered by Hans Christian Krueger, Former Secretary-General Adjunct of the Council of Europe, as well as senior counsels from ECLJ’s affiliate office in Moscow, the Slavic Centre for Law and Justice. Additionally, the students will visit the Council of Europe, hear a case at the European Court of Human Rights, and tour and meet Parliamentarians at the European Parliament which is in session in Strasbourg during the time of the Regent program. A reception hosting distinguished guests including six key Members of European Parliament representing six nations and three different political parties, from such prominent committees as the Human Rights, Foreign Affairs, Relations with Israel, Relations with the United States and Petitions Committees will be held at the European Centre for Law and Justice’s offices.
