Listen to BBC Radio for a report on an important ECLJ issue
December 11, 2006
(London, United Kingdom)—ECLJ has just learned that BBC Radio will air the story of the plight of Ukrainian women who have either been bribed or defrauded into having “live abortions”, whereby the doctors would actually birth babies under the guise of performing abortions and sell the tissue and organs for cosmetic and research purposes. Other stories involve women simply being told their babies died at birth and then not being allowed to see the remains because the babies were in actuality sold on the black market or had their organs harvested for research. Police inspectors investigating such complaints have found large numbers of infant remains disposed of at Ukrainian hospitals with missing organs.
ECLJ worked with Member of European Parliament Kathy Sinnott and the Ukrainian doctors partly responsible for uncovering the story, in bringing this matter to the public. Be sure to tune into BBC radio at 8 P.M. GMT to hear this important story.
