October 5, 2006
Strasbourg, France-- The European Centre for Law and Justice announced today that its Moscow based associate firm the Slavic Centre for Law and Justice received news of the victory of its clients, the Moscow Branch of the Salvation Army, from the European Court of Human Right earlier in the day. The decision, found below, is a resounding victory for religious freedoms and the right of charitable and Christian organizations to actively participate in Russian culture. The decision comes at a time of greater government restrictions being placed on Christian and foreign groups and is to be heralded as a tremendously positive step forward for Russian democracy and freedom.
